Gladiolus Days 2011

Gladiolus Days is St. Charles’ annual festival in honor of the Carl Fischer, who was world’s leading hybridizer of new and distinctive gladiolus.Gladiolus Day Pin 2011 He received numerous awards for his achievements, including the Society of the American Florists Gold Medal Award. He also received 80 awards for his "All American" varieties as well as the proven old timers. He established Noweta Gardens in 1945 and grew fields of Gladiolus in and around St. Charles for decades.

The Grand Parade is the jewel of the St. Charles festival which will be held Sunday, August 28th beginning at 1:00 p.m. It features over 200 floats from around the area and lots of candy for the kids!

Friday, August 26

8:30 p.m. -12:30 p.m. - Check out the street dance with "Standby" at the 11th Street Tent downtown.

Saturday, August 27

8:30 p.m. -12:30 p.m. - "Time Machine" is sure to bring back the glory days from rock to country to big hair bands. Come hang out at our downtown street dance and enjoy the end of summer.

**Presale tickets are available at City Hall located at 830 Whitewater Avenue in St. Charles during business hours and local businesses like Cabin Coffee, Whitewater Bike & Sport, Merchants Bank and the St. Charles Golf Club. Advance sale tickets are $7.00 or $10.00 at the gate.

 

11th Annual St. Charles Threshing Bee & the 4th Annual Tractor Show

September 17th and 18th

Starting at 9:00am ~ Free admission
Lunch will be served on the grounds.

Tractor Show - Steamerblacksmith demonstrations, wool spinning, weaving, stationary engines, a saw mill,
a corn sheller/grinder, apple cider, rope making, jam and jellies, children's games and more...
